Tell Me

Have you ever loved your murderer
As you were coming back from the dead?

Have you ever been told?

That you are nothing

By the mother who made you something

Been decimated to an inch of death

By words that cut deeper than any knife ever crafted

Been molded back up by the same person that broke you

Been called beautiful by the one who made you ugly

Been held by the one who abandoned you

Been forgiving to the one who forgot you

Have you ever loved your murderer

As you were coming back from the dead?

My name is Jenim Dibie. I'm a poet and writer. I've written four poetry books so far - Scarcast, The Calligraphy of God, How To Dance In Time, and I just released my fourth book - Birdsongs. I started writing poetry at an early age, and it has been the sole passion of my existence. I’ve written over 500 poems since my childhood. I love writing, music, movies, reading, dancing, and The Office. I decided to start blogging to give the world a warm hug, just as words have embraced me all my life. I hope to one day live in a house by the sea, with 10 dogs, and write a 100 books. May you find color in my black.
